Festival International du Film sur les Glaciers

Kiyémis is an author, afrofeminist poet and speaker who explores self‑love, body positivity and the visibility of Afro‑descendant women in Europe. She hosted the programme ‘Rends La Joie’ and edited the volume Pour la joie.

This reading and discussion examines how joy functions as a practice of resistance and cultural affirmation, addressing themes of self‑love, embodiment and political visibility. Kiyémis reads from her work, discusses poetic strategies and invites reflection on collective and individual approaches to reclaiming joy amid social exclusion.

Les Ateliers Acrylique are a theatrical school that celebrates the strength of group work and the intensity of stage experience. The workshops present performances written especially for participants — children, teenagers and adults — and are led by professional artists. Creators involved include Nathalie Jaggi, Delphine Demeure, Lua Gomes, Léa Ines Batoua, Evelyne Castellino, Basile Campanelli and Luca Léone. The programme emphasises collective creation, practical stage skills and ensemble dynamics.

This workshop explores the traditional process of assembling a herbarium specimen, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s collections. Participants learn scientific techniques for pressing and mounting dried plants on old paper, practice botanical labelling and nomenclature, and select specimens to create a personal herbarium sheet. The session examines preservation methods, identification principles and the historical context of Rousseau’s approach, combining practical skills with scientific insight to produce a lasting botanical object.

Reading and discussion with poet Kiyémis as part of Jessica Decorvet’s exhibition 𝘗𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦. Kiyémis is an author, Afro-feminist poet, and lecturer. She explores self-love, body positivity, and the place of women of African descent in European spaces. In addition to several books, she hosted the radio program “Rends La Joie” (Give Back the Joy) on Mediapart for two seasons. She edited the book “Pour la joie. Une ode à la résistance poétique et politique” (For Joy: An Ode to Poetic and Political Resistance), published by Les Liens qui Libèrent in 2025.

The session examines the dynamics between victims and colonizers, using guided writing and poetic prompts to explore fissures where daily colonialities persist. Participants investigate strategies of narrative repair, examine emotional and historical traces, and practice expressive approaches that reveal and challenge inherited structures.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.
