Organised by the association Mission Planète Terre, the Festival International du Film sur les Glaciers uses cinema to raise awareness about the melting of glaciers and the urgency of climate action. Through film screenings, discussions with directors, exhibitions, and school activities, the festival invites audiences to explore the environmental, social, and scientific dimensions of glacier retreat and its impact on our planet, highlighting the need for sustainable change.
A screening of the documentary Facing War, offering rare access to the inner workings of NATO as the war in Ukraine reshapes the global balance, followed by a timely debate asking: Is Europe at war? Amid Russia’s hybrid warfare, Europe’s massive rearmament and the growing fragility of Western alliances, diplomats, journalists and experts question the coherence and credibility of Europe’s political and military responses to an increasingly unstable geopolitical order.

Shaped by Soraya’s mobile-phone recordings, this intimate documentary follows a sixteen-year-old Afghan artist over five years as she attempts to flee Iran to join her mother in Austria. Blending handheld video, animation, drawings and sculpture, the film maps a journey of escape, song and improvised dance. It examines courage, gendered violence and the creative impulse as survival, rendered in raw textures and lyrical fragments. The result is a porous, sensory portrait of resistance and artistic self-creation.

Historians and activists unpack the forces hollowing out democracy—from attacks on civil rights to the erosion of the rule of law—through feminist, anti-racist and decolonial lenses.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.
Catherine Grimm, artist, leads drawing workshops that explore urban sketching and creative reinterpretation. She draws on practical studio and plein-air experience to guide participants in expressive pencil and marker techniques.
Participants will reinterpret an existing street or square using a black-and-white template, then add colour, ideas and personal style to transform the scene. Sessions examine composition, colour application and narrative through collaborative sharing and experimentation, developing individual approaches to visual storytelling and urban illustration.

Ten years after Geneva’s Department of Public Education expanded commitments to inclusive schooling, this session examines how inclusion is experienced in everyday school life for pupils with disabilities. It explores where policies succeed or fall short and investigates collaborative practices between schools, families, support services and institutions. The discussion addresses practical cooperation, barriers to participation, and concrete strategies to translate policy into classroom practice and ensure inclusion becomes a lived, sustainable reality.
