Centered on three guiding themes — matrices, belief, and mourning — this collective reading by artists Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi and Fabian Saul, together with a curator, builds on a poetic inquiry system the trio developed in 2022. They create a landscape of texts, sounds, and moving images that both explore and unsettle these questions. The project culminates in a new film composed of archival footage and original sequences edited by Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, with sound by Andrew Yong Hoon Lee; a live sound composition by Fabian Saul; and original texts written and performed by Thuy-Han Nguyen-Chi, Jade Meili Barget, and Fabian Saul. This event is part of a three-chapter cycle, also presented at the Harvard Film Archive and the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, in partnership with Zürich liest 2025.

Draga & Javel Cocoon

To kick off the Les Créatives festival, Alhambra hosts a concert featuring Draga, a musical project inspired by Monique Wittig’s “Les Guérillères,” alongside the Swiss group Cocon Javel. Draga, comprising Lucie Antunes, Anna Mouglalis, P.R2B, Théodora Delilez, and Narumi Herisson, delivers an energetic performance fusing activist rock, krautrock, analog electro, and post-punk. Cocon Javel, recognized for their intense and transformative music, blends electronic, experimental, pop, and rock styles, with their debut EP set for release in early 2025.

Renowned tenor Benjamin Bernheim, accompanied on piano by Carrie-Ann Mathseson, will perform in the prestigious series Les Grands Interprètes. Ça Veut Jouer (Ou Bien?) is a witty and poetic one-man show by Robert Bouvier, who steps in as the unlikely Prince Siegfried when a ballet company is held up at the airport. Drawing on his own experiences as actor, director, and theater manager, Bouvier humorously recounts his artistic journey—from his first school play to leading the Théâtre du Passage in Neuchâtel—while sharing behind-the-scenes tales of politicians, patrons, and temperamental artists. Directed by Joëlle Bouvier and Simon Romang, the performance blends storytelling, music, and theatrical charm into an unforgettable solo experience.

The show “7-8 Jean-François,” crafted by Alexandra Tiedemann and Céline Goormaghtigh, tells the story of a middle-aged man, disillusioned with life. Following his doctor’s advice to make a change, he enrolls in a disco dance class. There, a chance reunion with his old schoolmate Michaël stirs up past rivalries and awakens an unexpected competitive edge. Jean-François now dreams of redemption by winning the prestigious local dance event, the Night Cup.

Back from the ashes like a mischievous phoenix, this stage adaptation of Hergé’s timeless comic hurls Bianca Castafiore’s shrill “Heavens, my jewels!” onto the boards and detonates a riotous, closed-door whodunnit inside the tranquil walls of Moulinsart: red herrings fly, misunderstandings snowball and Tintin’s entire gallery of eccentrics careen through a dazzling, hyper-faithful recreation of the album, where actors vanish into near-unrecognisable guises and the set itself crackles with playful theatrical sleight-of-hand—proof that some productions really do possess a magic, living soul of their own.
