Caribana began in 1989 as a casual lakeside music party organized by a group of friends who loved music, sunshine, and cocktails. Its tropical, free-spirited vibe quickly became central to its identity. Over the years, the festival expanded—adding a second stage and blues music in 1997, along with shuttle services. Today, Caribana has grown into a major event drawing tens of thousands of attendees and hosting global music stars like Mika, ZZ Top, Imagine Dragons, and Patti Smith, while still holding onto its original joyful spirit.
