“A Star is Borgne” is a wild, satirical comedy on the film industry. When the director absconds with the funds, aspiring actresses auditioning for parts agree to participate in a pseudo ‘making-of’ segment for a portion of the film, working both in front of and behind the camera. Caritas Genève has embraced this project as a symbol of overcoming communication challenges faced in its refugee housing programs. Under the direction of Martial Renard, the performance will bring together 300 artists, including choirs and soprano Claire Michel de Haas, with a mixed Caritas ensemble of hosts and refugees singing together in a shared language of music. Proceeds will support refugee housing and legal aid initiatives.

Cappella Pratensis, an ensemble founded in 1987, specializes in the polyphony of the 15th and 16th centuries, focusing on the music of Josquin Desprez. By recreating the musical conditions of the Renaissance, the singers gather around a large lectern, using facsimiles of original sources. Their performances highlight Gregorian chant as the foundation of polyphony, emphasizing a flexible melody, the modal system, and the influence of language. The concert will be preceded by a discussion with Peter de Laurentis.

The Agapé Festival returns for its 17th edition, offering 11 concerts and a theater play at the Salle Frank Martin.
