Thematic Visit – Post Tenebras Lux

The Musée Ariana offers free themed tours on the first Sunday of each month.  Themes include exploring the city’s stained glass at the museum, the museum’s masterpieces, and the evolution of stained glass from the 19th to the 21st century.

The stained glass collections of the Musée Ariana are coming out of storage! When the museum was bequeathed to the City of Geneva in 1890, Gustave Revilliod had acquired 118 stained glass pieces. Today, the museum boasts over 400 pieces, spanning from the 12th to the 21st century. The fifth installment of the “The Ariana Unveils Its Reserves” series showcases an exceptional selection of this heritage.

15 May – 15 August

“AI, Imagination, and Innovation” is an outdoor exhibition presented by Mich’Line, a project from the City of Thônex Art Fund along the Voie Verte. Open to all, the exhibition questions the role of artificial intelligence in artistic creation. Swiss artists Maëlle Gross and Elsa Wagnières delve into AI’s potential and limitations through works that blur the lines between reality and fiction. Gross tackles the postpartum experience with AI-generated compositions, while Wagnières offers an imagined bestiary reflecting environmental and technological impacts. This immersive installation invites contemplation on the aesthetic, ethical, and environmental challenges in our digital world.

15 May – 27 June

The Centre des Arts showcases a rare selection of Chu Teh-Chun’s works on paper, emphasizing calligraphy and ink. These pieces reflect his profound connection to Chinese roots and spontaneous gestural expression. Designed as an educational experience, the exhibition delves into the artist’s intimacy, his approach to space and movement, and the interplay between ink and material.

15 May – 28 June

Geneva-based multidisciplinary artist Alexandre Bianchini delves into painting, collage, photography, video, and installation. As a co-founder of Forde, his works are marked by isolated elements set against bold color fields, challenging illusion and narrative. His pieces, both dense and enigmatic, question perception and present a layered visual language that invites reflection and doubt.

20 February – 31 August

“Home Is Where We Start From” is a contemporary art exhibition organized by ART for The World, in collaboration with Geneva’s Department of Culture and the Museum of Art and History. Featuring works by around 30 artists with diverse migratory backgrounds, the exhibition explores themes of migration, interculturality, and resilience. Notable artists include Marina Abramović, Mona Hatoum, and Shirin Neshat. The exhibition is curated by Adelina von Fürstenberg and includes a book of interviews on the concept of “home” in the context of migration. A special event on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025) will feature workshops, performances, screenings, and a concert celebrating women artists.
