the shadows: create your own superplant!

This interactive workshop investigates plant adaptations that allow some species to thrive in sun and others in shade. Participants examine leaves, roots and surface structures under magnification to identify traits such as pigment distribution, stomatal placement and water-conserving strategies. Through observation and creative design, attendees develop their own ‘super-plant’, articulating the adaptations that would enable survival across diverse environments and reflecting on why these traits matter for ecology and resilience.
