The Deal – Screening & Masterclass

The Centre for Digital Humanities and Multilateralism (CDHM) is pleased to invite you to this event on “The Deal”. This Swiss diplomatic thriller series takes place during fictionalized nuclear negotiations in Geneva between Iran and the P5+EU. Jean-Stéphane Bron will give a Masterclass on his experience creating this series. This will be followed by a screening of the first episode, and then a panel discussion with Sara Hellmüller, Grégoire Mallard and Serge Michel.

The FILMAR festival presents “El fin de las primeras veces” by Rafael Ruiz Espejo, a Mexican fiction film lasting 76 minutes. The Festival Les Créatives, a multidisciplinary event in Geneva, highlights the artistic and intellectual works of women and gender minorities. The 21st edition features concerts, theater, exhibitions, and discussions on topics such as chosen families and friendships. Notable participants include Hélène Giannecchini, Sophie Lewis, and Chloé Delaume. The festival reaffirms its commitment to combatting gender-based violence, working with the Canton and City of Geneva on local awareness campaigns.

As part of the Festival Les Créatives, a panel discussion at the Palais Anna et Jean-Gabriel Eynard will explore the dynamics of activist friendships and chosen families, seen as havens and spaces of resistance. The guests will discuss how these connections bolster struggles, support diverse identities, and offer alternatives to traditional models. Emphasis will be on the significance of affection, care, and solidarity within feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements, celebrating the strength of alliances that build resilient and creative communities, backed by the City of Geneva.

As part of the Festival Les Créatives, a panel discussion will take place at the Fondation Atelier Philippe Grosclaude, focusing on the recognition of women artists in art history. Moderated by Florence Grivel, the conversation will feature Sarah Burkhalter and Camille Morineau, who will discuss the importance of reassessing historical narratives and supporting contemporary female artists to prevent repeating past mistakes.
