Based in Fribourg and home to one of the world’s largest collections of synthesizers — nearly 5,000 instruments — the SMEM (Swiss Museum for Electronic Music Instruments) brings its iconic machines to Geneva for The Open Synth Labs, part of the Electron Festival. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you can explore, play, and record unique sounds. Discover the fascinating history of iconic synthesizers like the Roland TR-909, the Korg MS-20, and the Moog Model D.
The 22nd edition of the Electron Festival in Geneva invites you to dive into the world of electronic cultures through dynamic concerts, innovative labs, and creative workshops. Globally renowned, this event offers a bold lineup highlighting both emerging trends and classic staples of the electronic scene. Engage in experimental performances, creative workshops, live events, a unique techno set, and a brand-new open-air experience.
The Electron Festival takes over the Ansermet Auditorium for an immersive evening, utilizing its remarkable 64-speaker sound system to deliver a unique 3D audio experience. Normally home to classical and jazz music, the venue will, for the first time, host electronic music featuring virtuoso KiNK and Voltaire, a protégé of Laurent Garnier. It promises to be a true celebration of sound in an extraordinary setting.
Prepare yourself for an electrifying evening at Le Chaudron, spotlighting live electronic, synthetic, and modular creations. Nestled within the eMa music school, the venue offers a warm, immersive acoustic atmosphere. Four talented artists will perform live: Anna Z from the Berlin scene, I Am The Gift with a unique synthesizer approach, and Geneva-based artists Shifting Waves and the duo Entelechia. Expect an exceptional sensory experience blending sound and visuals.
Every Saturday, Samedis Jazz brings the Maison des Arts du Grütli to life with live jazz performances at the Café Restaurant du Grütli. It’s an inviting weekly rendezvous where music lovers can unwind, enjoy great food, and let the smooth sounds set the tone for the weekend.
N.B. Exceptionally, during the second weekend of April, the jazz concert will take place on Sunday 13 April, instead of Saturday, as part of the Fête de la Terrasse.
The Forum Meyrin is hosting American artist Rachel Marks for a residency where her studio becomes a dynamic exhibition and interactive space. Together with the audience, she breathes new life into abandoned books and papers. Central to her work is the tree, a symbol that delves into the relationship between humans and their environment.
