Straight Sound, a longstanding sound system rooted in Geneva’s reggae/dancehall scene, blends deep bass, syncopated rhythms and dub-influenced textures. For over twenty years the collective has moved between underground nights and major clubs across Switzerland, shaping a warm, bass-driven sonic identity. Their sets balance classic selections and contemporary cuts, building hypnotic grooves and communal energy. Le retour, conceived and performed by Marion Duval and staged by the Chris Cadillac company, blends theatre, clowning and performance. Rock on Stage Classic is an event offering musicians of all skill levels the chance to perform on stage, guided by André Schmid, the former lead singer of the Geneva band Ça va chier. Participants can perform solo, with their own accompanists, or be supported by a team of professional musicians.

19 – 23 May

Choreographer Marcos Morau unveils Svatbata, a world premiere for the Grand Théâtre de Genève. This work brings together the theater’s ballet troupe to delve into the rituals and concept of marriage, drawing inspiration from Bulgaria’s unique position as a bridge between East and West. Through choreographic movements that blend human sounds and gestures, the piece offers a contemplation on life, death, and the rituals connecting them, while celebrating the universality and depth of collective traditions.

19 & 28 May

An evening of contemporary stand-up, My Comedy Hall presents a program of sharp observational humor and character-driven sketches. The show favours intimate staging and focused lighting, creating a warm, immediate connection between performers and audience. Expect a lively mix of satirical wit, personal storytelling and playful improvisation that explores everyday absurdities with intelligence and heart. Minimal scenic elements and precise timing highlight the rhythms of each routine, inviting sustained laughter and thoughtful reflection.

Brigade financière stages a tense, chamber drama by Hugues Leforestier that confronts the logic of contemporary finance. Under Antony Mettler’s direction, Christian Gregori and Maria Mettral embody a sharp, cerebral duel between a financial crimes commissioner and an accused executive. Christian Gregori also signs scenography and costumes while Florian Cuellar sculpts the lighting. The production blends police-procedural suspense with satirical intelligence, probing power, privilege and the contradictions of today’s economic system.

Directed by Claude Vuillemin, Yasmina Reza’s Trois versions de la vie assembles four performers, Laurent Deshusses, Marie Druc, Sophie Lukasik and Nicolas Rossier, in a taut, virtuosic staging. Lighting by Rinaldo Del Boca and costumes by Sylvie LĂ©pine shape shifting domestic realities as the play probes how social veneer fractures intimate relationships. This production by Les Amis – Le Chariot demands precision and emotional nuance from its cast.
