Second Francophone Forum on Digital Governance and AI

Organised for francophone stakeholders, the second forum examines governance challenges raised by digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Panels and working sessions will explore policy coordination, regulatory frameworks, ethical standards and multilateral engagement across francophone countries. Participants will discuss strategies to align national approaches with international processes and to strengthen collaborative mechanisms for responsible AI, digital governance and ongoing dialogue.

This workshop explores the traditional process of assembling a herbarium specimen, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s collections. Participants learn scientific techniques for pressing and mounting dried plants on old paper, practice botanical labelling and nomenclature, and select specimens to create a personal herbarium sheet. The session examines preservation methods, identification principles and the historical context of Rousseau’s approach, combining practical skills with scientific insight to produce a lasting botanical object.

This interactive memory challenge invites participants to test their memory while exploring practical ways to preserve biodiversity based on Geneva’s municipal strategy. Players match “before-and-after” images that illustrate individual and institutional actions, and each correct pair reveals concise information explaining the measure. The activity examines themes such as habitat restoration, species-friendly practices, urban greening and policy responses, helping participants understand the impact and rationale behind everyday and organisational conservation choices.

4 – 5 July

Science Night brings together hundreds of researchers and science enthusiasts to present hands-on stands and activities for the public. The event fosters public engagement, showcasing diverse scientific disciplines and informal learning practices. It explores how interactive demonstrations and conversations can inspire curiosity, deepen knowledge, and connect specialist research with everyday experience. Themes include science communication, interdisciplinary dialogue, and cultivating wonder as a driver for learning and civic participation.

3 May – 6 December

An audiovisual parcours immerses visitors in Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s life and work, arguing that his writings continue to provoke contemporary debate. Through seven thematic niches, the presentation examines Rousseau’s paradoxes — from individual freedom to social critique — and invites reflection on how his ideas anticipate modern challenges. The session explores tensions in his thought and encourages critical questioning of present assumptions, revealing why Rousseau remains relevant for current political and cultural discussions.
