(re)connecting. earth (03) – Sensitive Resources

(re)connecting.earth brings together contemporary artists, scientists and environmental practitioners to probe urban biodiversity and the conditions of city life. The nomadic Geneva edition presents installations, video, sculpture and participatory projects that interrogate ecosystems, nonhuman agency and infrastructural landscapes. Featuring a selection of international artists including Monira Al‑Qadiri, Yuri Ancarani, Mabe Bethônico and Olaf Holzapfel, the biennale foregrounds material practices and research-based approaches that rethink relations between art, nature and urban communities.

Naturæ brings together works by Silvia Bächli, Erik Bulatov, Jean Crotti, Franz Gertsch, Fabrice Gygi, Alex Hanimann, Alain Huck, Claudio Moser, Leanne Picthall and Melissa Steckbauer. This exhibition presents portraits and personal testimonies of about twenty Swiss centenarians alongside results from the SWISS100 interdisciplinary research project. Photographs, audio testimonies, archival documents and data visualisations dialogue to reveal everyday realities of longevity. The display combines portraiture and research to challenge clichés, exploring memory, loss, care and social infrastructures that shape life after a hundred. Visitors encounter intimate narratives framed by scientific analysis and visual storytelling.

16 March – 17 October

Dany Gignoux (photographer) and poet Georges Haldas present a compelling dialogue between documentary photography and lyrical prose. The exhibition brings together photographs and written fragments that register everyday life in Geneva’s cafés, combining on-the-spot reportage with memory-infused “prose inspirée.” Through intimate black-and-white images and spare, evocative texts the works transfigure mundane scenes into poetic testimony, revealing social undercurrents and human tenderness. Archival materials frame this historic encounter between two generations of cultural chroniclers.

20 October – 6 May

Ready to dive into the dark depths off the island of Antikythera to discover an ancient shipwreck? The exhibition Nouvelles d’Anticythère presents the research carried out between 2021 and 2025 by the Classical Archaeology Unit of the University of Geneva, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Culture. It examines the famous shipwreck discovered in 1900 — a major merchant vessel that sank in the 1st century BCE — and invites visitors to discover the site and understand why it remains a key subject for archaeological research across the Mediterranean.

13 March – 16 May

Geneva-based artist Christian Robert-Tissot transforms everyday words, slogans and street expressions into bold visual artworks. By shifting these familiar phrases out of their usual context, he reveals their rhythms, ambiguities and hidden meanings, turning ordinary language into playful reflections on daily life.

12 March – 7 May

Ernest Pignon-Ernest, born in 1942 in Nice, is considered one of the pioneers of street art. Through life-sized charcoal drawings pasted directly onto city walls, he creates powerful encounters between his human figures and the urban spaces they inhabit. Deeply engaged with social and political issues, his work reflects historical and contemporary struggles while maintaining a strong poetic and human presence.
