Nicolas Ponce — We Will See Each Other Again in August

Artist Nicolas Ponce presents a personal exhibition of video installations that probe pathways of memory, both personal and collective. Works combine archival footage, film extracts, stolen sequences and found online materials to build layered visual montages. The exhibition text examines mechanisms of remembrance and describes an artistic montage of contradictions that opens a ‘Chamber of Reminiscences’. Ponce’s practice centres on video and installation, interrogating set, landscape, secrets and political narratives through the lens of popular culture.

Opening : Thursday 23 April, 18:00

Her work blurs painting and sculpture: textured, tactile canvases where brushwork and sculptural modelling interweave. Silent yet confrontational female figures occupy compositions in grey and yellow, evoking funerary motifs and the logic of memory and grief. 12 March – 9 May

German artist Gerhard Hotter (born 1954) presents a survey of works that unfolds across five decades, exploring play as a mode of learning and experimentation. Early paintings from the 1980s evoke inner labyrinths populated by chess pieces, playing cards and miniature toys; later works evolve into modular constructions inspired by Bauhaus toys, privileging pure form, volume, colour and combinable structures. Hotter employs Langford sequences as compositional tools, situating his practice within concrete art where order becomes an active, playful principle. Recent pieces expand this enquiry through relief, light and spatial interventions.

Opening during the Nuit des Bains, Thursday 12 March, 18:00.
