The Mysteries of the Balkans Festival celebrates the vibrant cultural diversity of the Balkans, showcasing artists from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Crimea, Romania, Turkey, Greece, and Ukraine. The festival offers an exciting lineup of concerts, family shows, a dance event, meetings, talks, and screenings. It highlights the lively traditions of the Balkans through songs, dances, and colorful costumes, focusing on both the memory of these peoples and their ability to celebrate their heritage.
A marionette epic that is as ecological as it is poetic, Spécimen takes us on a dizzying reverse journey through 3.8 billion years of evolution. Following Lucy, a supermarket employee suddenly propelled out of the “capitalocene,” we travel back through the ages of life on Earth, shifting perspectives and questioning what it means to be human today. Both intimate and spectacular, this “prehisto-evolutionary” fable blends theatre and puppetry to speak as much to teenagers as to adults, celebrating the vital energy that persists through extinctions, upheavals, and renewals — and opening the door to other possible futures.

“Avignon, une école,” by Fanny de Chaillé, takes audiences on a journey through the iconic moments of the Avignon Festival using a rich tapestry of photo archives, films, reports, and radio broadcasts. Conceived in 2024 with 15 actors from La Manufacture, this production delves into 77 years of theatrical history, stage memories, scandals, and artistic testimonials, all brought to life with exuberant theatricality and infectious enthusiasm.

“Les tergiversations d’un homme au ventre vide” is a comedic play by Julien Doquin de Saint Preux. The story follows a man’s whimsical musings over what to eat, cleverly weaving in reflections on deeper life choices, including fatherhood. Julien, known for his animations, columns, and sketches, has contributed to RTS programs and created humorous audiovisual projects before making his mark in stand-up comedy.

Caroline de Cornière intertwines autobiography, movement, and words to delve into the transformations of her female body. By invoking the figures of her foremothers, she weaves an intimate and collective narrative. Performing solo within an evolving stage design, she welcomes the audience into an empathetic space where voice, music, and dance interact, balancing introspection and shared experience.
Jean-Luc Hervé presents “Sombre / Topos – Musical Salon with a Population of Sound Animals” in collaboration with Utopiana and the University of Geneva. This innovative project features sound broadcasts, performances, and a seminar. Hervé explores the interplay between music and the environment by positioning sound sources throughout a house, crafting a natural polyphony that mimics animal populations. The performances, woven into this soundscape, gradually evolve and separate, forming an independent “sound population” that remains even after the performers have exited.
Recluses Fest #8 returns to the Alhambra, delivering an energetic celebration of punk rock and metal. This lively edition features six bands, including the legendary Elmer Food Beat known for their upbeat lyrics, the politically charged rock of No One is Innocent, and Geneva’s own CardiaC with their hardcore metal fusion. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to “Hardcore Hits Cancer,” supporting children battling cancer, making every entry a gesture of solidarity.
