Marlene Monteiro Freitas kicks off the Festival d’Avignon with NÔT, a dance piece inspired by One Thousand and One Nights that weaves together tales of love, war, and adventure. This performance presents a dramatic confrontation between life and death, captivity and freedom, vice and virtue, and features a human architecture reminiscent of Goya, where desires and realities clash.

The Summer Concerts at the Ella Fitzgerald Stage in La Grange Park present a diverse lineup of free concerts for everyone. From the Music Festival to performances featuring rap, cumbia, soul, jazz, and more, each evening showcases a different musical genre. Experience a diverse concert conducted by Sergey Ostrovsky and Noémie Bialobroda, featuring a captivating program with works by Bach, Tchaikovsky, Corigliano, Igudesman, Loboda, and Paganini. The evening will showcase performances by talented musicians such as Barbora Butvydaite on viola, the Solveig Quartet, Sory Park on violin, and Jonathan Gerstner on cello. Highlighted pieces include Bach’s Partita No. 2, Tchaikovsky’s String Quartet No. 3, and Paganini’s caprices.

2 – 5 July

Four captivating concerts await you at Stagni Park. On the first day, Ensemble Voyageur will enchant with a blend of European and Latin American melodies featuring a soprano and piano. The next day promises a deep dive into French music with performances by cellist Julia Sevilla Fraysse and pianist Anastasia Calmus. Following that, the United Strings of Europe will perform Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons paired with Piazzolla. The final day’s program by ClassiCosy includes works by Schubert and jazz pieces. Light refreshments will be available, and if it rains, the event moves indoors to the Jean-Jacques Gautier community hall.
