FURTHER AFIELD

The Montreux Jazz Festival takes place for two weeks every summer in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Created in 1967 by Claude Nobs and directed by Mathieu Jaton since 2013, the Montreux Jazz Festival has become over the years an essential event, generating fantastic stories and legendary performances.

In its 50 years history, Montreux has hosted iconic performances by artists including Nina Simone, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Elton John and Stevie Wonder. Deep Purple and Prince even helped to write the legend of the place in their songs, while David Bowie and Freddie Mercury came to live in the region and record albums.

The Women’s Euro 2025 will take place in Switzerland, with Geneva hosting five matches at the Stade de Genève, including a quarter-final and a semi-final. The city will come alive with the excitement of this historic event, turning into a massive playground even before kick-off.

This summer, Antigel teams up with ECLA for a series of four free events in the heart of Geneva, celebrating youth, diversity, and culture in all its forms. From a rooftop RnB quiz and laid-back garden parties to a night of stand-up comedy and a bold finale blending live rap and on-the-spot cooking, this collaboration offers festive, inclusive, and accessible experiences. A summer to connect, celebrate, and explore culture differently — and together.
