Inhabited: Eleven Brazilian Artists

Eleven Brazilian artists spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries engage in a group exhibition that examines how form is inhabited by belief systems, memory, ritual and everyday experience. Through painting, sculpture and assemblage, the works trace dialogues between modern and contemporary practices shaped by Afro‑Brazilian religions, Indigenous cosmologies and vernacular knowledge. Materials range from painted canvases and carved works to found objects and textile interventions, revealing layered narratives of lineage, syncretism and embodied memory.

Fertile Hybridations explores the many forms of encounters and interweavings between humans, non-humans, knowledge systems, and temporalities.
Visitors are invited to inhabit the space, to question, to connect with these artist-researchers and designers, and—like them—to attempt to engage in dialogue and move beyond anthropocentrism, the idea that humans are at the center of everything. Instead, the exhibition encourages recognizing forms of intelligence or agency in other species, and building new relationships and exchanges.
Through this evolving exhibition, enriched by the intersection of art, design, and science, HiFlow becomes a living laboratory—a space for fertile alliances…

The presentation includes a new work by Sabrina Röthlisberger Belkacem and is curated by Sara Petrucci with scenography by OnLab, creating a dialogue between archives and recent artistic responses.

Ben Thouard is an ocean artist and one of the world’s foremost surf photographers. In his work water becomes a darkroom, an underwater camera obscura that reveals a singular, immersive vision. This exhibition presents previously unseen photography born of a near-daily practice: a language of water and light. Between organic forms, deep textures and shifts of shadow and clarity, Thouard’s images move between abstraction and contemplation, offering a sensory experience that explores the movements and metamorphoses of liquid matter.
