Persian miniatures from the Safavid and Qajar eras are presented through works from the Pozzi collection, tracing three centuries of artistic evolution. Court artists produced refined, jewel-like paintings—manuscript illuminations, illustrated folios and small-scale paintings—characterized by vivid pigments, intricate composition and narrative detail.
As production expanded, new subjects including ethnographic scenes and urban tastes emerged, reflecting changing patrons and encounters with European travelers. The display examines how technique, format and circulation reshaped visual storytelling and cultural exchange.
