FILMARcito Itinerante: Viva la música

FILMARcito Itinerante offers a tour of short film screenings for children across various communes in Geneva. Running from January to June, this program takes young audiences on a journey through the music, history, nature, and dreams of the Latin American continent, promoting cultural diversity awareness and respect for ecosystems. Some sessions feature a musical activity between films.

Kids ages 4 and up.

Spoutnik is hosting Outdoor Cinema sessions at Place des Volontaires, featuring Akira Kurosawa’s “Dreams,” a film made up of eight dreamlike and nightmarish segments reflecting the director’s childhood and Japan’s collective anxieties. As part of this screening series, there will be a collaboration with the Animatou festival to celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

These pieces reflect his profound connection to Chinese roots and spontaneous gestural expression. Designed as an educational experience, the exhibition delves into the artist’s intimacy, his approach to space and movement, and the interplay between ink and material.

20 April – 13 June

The FMAC is hosting Godzillab for a two-week creative workshop series tailored for kids.  Led by Estelle Germain, Fred Fivaz, and Kleio Obergfell-Thomaïdes, children will have the opportunity to design and craft giant monster posters for the FMAC’s exterior or create 3D dioramas inspired by extraordinary tales.

Thursday 12 June, 11:00

The MEG is hosting a Relax film session followed by a concert, open to everyone. Attendees can enjoy four silent animated films that celebrate music as a source of inspiration. The total runtime of the films is 48 minutes, and they will be followed by a 20-minute concert. This event is free and does not require prior registration. The Relax concept offers a flexible experience where guests can come and go as they please, with gentle sounds and a welcoming atmosphere designed to accommodate everyone, including people with disabilities and families with babies.

 

Saturday 14 June, 10:00, 14:30

As part of the “Books, Early Childhood, and Families” week, Irène Schoch will host a reading and workshop centered around the interactive book “Chien couture” at the Bibliothèque de la Cité. Children will have the opportunity to mix and match costumes and texts to design their favorite dog and illustrate their creations.

In French.  Kids ages 3 – 4.

Saturday 14 June, 10:00 & 14:30

Zeynep Perinçek and Alice Krichel will be leading these drawing workshops for children, where they will team up to create imaginary creatures. Drawing inspiration from their creative process, each child will begin a drawing that their partner will then complete.

Ages 3 and up.
