“Zodiaque” explores the ancient Babylonian concept of the “cycle of small animals” or the Zodiac, which, over 3,000 years ago, became the first celestial coordinate system. Over time, the Zodiac has passed through Greek, Latin, Jewish, Hindu, and Arab cultures, evolving into a significant cultural symbol that has influenced various art forms. Inspired by composers like Holst, Messiaen, and Stockhausen, the performance will delve into this timeless symbol of our fascination with the Universe and our place within it. The event will feature the participation of students from the Master Performer-Composer program of the Haute école de musique de Genève.
