Chu Teh-Chun Prize Exhibition

Students from La Grande Boissière present a collective exhibition of visual art responding to the life and work of Chu Teh‑Chun. Through paintings, drawings and mixed‑media pieces, the show examines perseverance, multicultural influences and the role of self‑reflection in artistic practice. Works offer personal interpretations and visual languages that articulate each student’s perspective on form, colour and memory. A jury selects outstanding pieces and the overall winner receives an artist residency.

Opening and Prize Award Ceremony on Wednesday 10 June at 17:00.

Carolina Fontana presents Parallaxe, a first solo exhibition in Geneva featuring paintings from her recent Z·E·N series. Produced through contemplative travels across Swiss cantons, Spain and China, the canvases blend figurative motifs with abstract formations to evoke a transcendent, Zen-informed sensibility toward landscape and the sublime. The works emphasise delicate brushwork, layered surfaces and meditative composition, inviting sustained attention to process, rhythm and the poetic interplay between presence and absence.

May 1972 is an exhibition dedicated to Salvatore Emblema (Naples, 1929–2006), bringing together works produced between the late 1960s and the early 1980s. Across paintings, sculptures and installations, Emblema refines a conceptual language that interrogates materiality, form and temporality. The presentation highlights his experimental use of found materials, assemblage and reductive gestures, situating these works within postwar Italian avant‑garde practices and the artist’s evolving exploration of spatial and epistemic limits.

23 May – 7 June

Maral and 7OlM (Paloma) present a dialogue between sound-inflected painting and fragile sculptural works. Maral, influenced early by figurative masters, returns to canvas after years in music, favouring black-and-white palettes and rhythmic gestures that transpose musical movement into portraiture and painted surfaces. 7OlM creates clay and plaster objects that emphasise coldness, fragility and resistance, often staged as ephemeral constructions. Together the exhibition examines transmission, temporality and the tension between disappearance and endurance.

Elisabetta Bergonzo and Corinne Kohli present complementary works exploring vegetal and mineral imaginaries. Bergonzo transforms clay into intimate surfaces where traces of reverie and fleeting emotions are captured, creating sculptural fragments of interior landscape. Kohli gathers foliage through contemplative observation, producing delicate vegetal imprints and assemblages that echo whispered conversations with the living. Together their ceramic and botanical practices weave a quiet, poetic dialogue between memory, materiality and the tensions of presence and absence.

Opening: Wednesday 27 May, 18:00
Closing event: Saturday 13 June, 11:00 – 17:00

12 March – 14 June

The exhibition brings together three artists, Nnena Kalu, Linda Bell and Marie Gyger, whose practices examine repetitive gesture as a daily discipline. Gyger reflects on the value of labour, while Bell and Kalu pursue more spontaneous, obsessive procedures. Their works, ranging from repetitive drawings and object accumulation to installations and assembled images, show how accumulation sculpts pictorial forms and material narratives, inviting reflection on labour, ritual and the construction of visual meaning.

Opening during Nuit des Bains, Thursday 12 March, 18:00.
