Castor & Pollux – by Jean-Philippe Rameau

Leonardo García Alarcón and his Cappella Mediterranea, in collaboration with the GTG Ballet, present the opera-dance Castor & Pollux by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Rarely performed in its 1737 version, the work delves into themes of brotherly love and sacrifice amidst a war between two peoples. The show features renowned baroque artists, including performances by Reinoud van Mechelen and Andreas Wolf. Dance is woven into the core of the dramaturgy, highlighting the emotional and musical depth of Rameau’s composition.

Twarkowski, renowned for his multimedia creations, delves into the politicization of science, geopolitical issues, and the influence of artificial intelligence, continuing a line of thought initiated with “Quanta.”

Their son Alexandre, along with Dimitar Gougov and Ion Miu, honors this legacy through a blend of traditional styles and original compositions. The event is organized by the Ateliers d’ethnomusicologie and AMR, with support from the City of Geneva and the South Cultural Fund.
