BaianaSystem is set to unveil the “Lundu Rock Show” in Europe for the first time, blending Afro-Bahian music with Brazilian pop culture. Led by Passapusso and Roberto Barreto, this concert at the Alhambra highlights the connection between their albums “O Futuro Não Demora” and “O Mundo Dá Voltas.” Offering a contemporary reinterpretation of Brazil’s African musical roots, the show integrates elements of folklore and rock. Since its founding in 2009, BaianaSystem has gained international acclaim for its vibrant performances that mix Afro-Brazilian rhythms with rock and pop influences.

The night will be further enlivened by Ogoun Ferraille’s set, featuring a mix of classic and rare garage and proto-hard rock tracks.

“État Sauvage” offers a theatrical experience where humor and discomfort intertwine. It follows two men, referred to as the One and the Other, who meet in a park transformed into a wild space, challenging violence and reason. The play delves into our inner barbarism and the delicacy of civilization through compelling performances, highlighted by intricate lighting and evocative music. Stéphane Jaubertie’s script is powerful and contemporary, crafting a disturbingly mesmerizing human tableau. The production has been awarded the first regional prize from Rhône-Alpes at the FESTHEA festival and closed the Avignon IF festival.

La Bâtie Festival is hosting a concert featuring Israel Fernández and Diego del Morao at the Alhambra. Israel Fernández, a singer who reimagines flamenco while honoring its roots, teams up with Diego del Morao, one of the leading contemporary guitarists. Their blend of tradition and modernity, combined with their chemistry and improvisational flair, ensures a unique performance every time.

Zizi Zozio is a performance by Marvin M’Toumo, an artist and designer trained in Nice and Geneva, that merges theater, fashion, and poetry. It reflects on his childhood in Guadeloupe and a dream of living among pelicans. The performer embodies a bird adorned with feathers, addressing themes of violence, sexuality, memory, and survival through a blend of storytelling, breath, cries, and song. Through this hybrid character, he authentically explores issues of gender and race, using art as a space for questioning and reconciliation.

The Leipzig Symphony, under the baton of Knut Andreas, offers an exciting evening dedicated to Spanish classical music, featuring works by Bizet, Giménez, Falla, Sarasate, Strauss, Rimski-Korsakov, and Ravel. Violin soloist Antonio Palanović will take center stage. The program promises fiery rhythms and intense emotions, culminating with Ravel’s renowned “Boléro,” celebrated for its mesmerizing crescendo.
