As part of the research seminar L’histoire par la photographie (Autumn 2025), organized by the Maison de l’histoire, Célia Honoré (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) will explore the intersections of media modernity and criminal investigation through the publication of Gabrielle Bompard’s photographs in the Affaire Gouffé. The seminar examines photography as a historical source, reflecting on its contributions and limitations for understanding historical narratives and writing history.
