Located on the banks of the Arve in a repurposed former perfume factory, La Parfumerie is a versatile cultural space co-managed by three independent theater and dance companies. It is primarily dedicated to the productions of its resident companies and the hosting of local troupes. The venue also serves as a space for theater and dance workshops for young people. During the summer, the outdoor terrace hosts regular cultural activities and performances.
Théâtre Spirale presents “Memory of Fire” by Eduardo Galeano at La Parfumerie, a poetic and thought-provoking performance inspired by Latin American history. This show amplifies the voices of the voiceless through myths, legends, historical events, and stories. Directed by Patrick Mohr, the production weaves together text, music, and visuals, featuring a collaboration with versatile artists. On Fridays, the program is enhanced with Cuban music concerts.
Elsa Couvreur brings “Let’s Start Again” to the Parfumerie, a dance performance where the soloist endlessly repeats a choreographic phrase, guided by new instructions each time. This solo combines dance with humor, challenging audience expectations of art.
At La Parfumerie, Serge Martin presents a unique dialogue between Diogenes and the Joker. Diogenes, sometimes appearing as a hologram, highlights life’s essentials while the Joker entertains the audience. Together, they critique modern cynicism and assert that life should overcome. This subversive and humorous performance explores themes such as simplicity, sexual freedom, gender equality, pacifism, and the rejection of money. Featuring José Lillo and Serge Martin on stage, the production uses holograms and meticulous staging to create an immersive experience.
The latest creation by Edouard Hue, takes the stage at La Parfumerie, signaling his desire for innovation by delving into underexplored elements like jumps and partnering. Joined by four dancers, Hue examines the physical boundaries through duets, trios, and quartets, emanating lightness, freshness, and a collective energy. He celebrates the freedom and blossoming of dancers, akin to buds of life. This production is a creation of the Beaver Dam Company, in collaboration with various cultural partners.
La Parfumerie invites you to explore Gargot de Joc, a collection of thirty games crafted from recycled materials by Catalan artist Joan Rovira. This interactive living museum, a contrast to traditional amusement parks, promises laughter and contemplation. Experience this festive animation just in time for the holiday season!

Nathalie Karibian and Fabrice Lelong bring the opera Nour to La Parfumerie. Nour, a symbol of Armenia, poetically delves into universal themes of displacement, identity, and love through a conversation between a grandfather and his granddaughter, touching on the Armenian diaspora. Created to commemorate the centenary of the Armenian genocide, this opera highlights human resilience. The musical direction is led by Fruzsina Szuromi, with staging by Michèle Cart and choreography by Béatrice Nauffray. The performance is supported by the Maîtrise du Conservatoire populaire and the Ensemble instrumental d’Opéra-Théâtre.
