Payot Genève Rive Gauche is a large four-storey bookstore in central Geneva offering over 100,000 French and international titles. The venue hosts author events and readings, and includes a Nature & Découvertes shop and café, providing a warm, airy atmosphere with multiple reading spaces that encourage browsing and cultural exchange.
Author Nic Ulmi presents and discusses his book “Joséphine Clofullia, la Dame à barbe de Genève”, offering a researched portrait of the 19th-century performer and the social contexts that shaped her public life. The conversation, moderated by Thierry Maurice of the Maison de l’histoire, examines themes of gender, spectacle, and local history, highlighting archival insights and critical perspectives on representation and identity.
