Gallery Brulhart is a contemporary art gallery based in Geneva, dedicated to promoting women artists of African and Afro-descendant heritage. Founded within a feminist and intercultural framework, it presents a program of solo and group exhibitions highlighting artistic practices engaged with themes such as identity, gender, memory, and society. Through its exhibitions, the gallery aims to build bridges between African art scenes, the diaspora, and the Swiss art context, while amplifying voices often underrepresented in contemporary art.
Anne-Marie Akplogan presents a body of paintings and mixed-media works produced during a recent residency in Paris. Focusing on legs and feet, the works probe the language of the body, the breath of the soul and the memory embedded in the foot. Through layered paint, varied textures and sculptural handling of surface, Akplogan situates intimate anatomy within sensitive, spiritual and anthropological registers, inviting reflection on movement, ritual and embodied memory.
