Situated on the grounds of the Château du Crest in Jussy, the Collection du Crest showcases a family’s collection of paintings and sculptures. With a broad spectrum of works by local artists who have significantly contributed to the artistic landscape of Geneva and Switzerland, the collection traces the history of art in Geneva from the 18th century to the mid-20th century.
An expanded presentation of works from the Geneva School and the Lake Geneva region brings together paintings and drawings by Ferdinand Hodler, François Bocion, John Torcapel, Alexandre Perrier, Félix Vallotton, Alexandre Cingria and Jean Roll. The display traces regional artistic dialogues across centuries, from academic realism to symbolist and modernist approaches, highlighting technique, compositional daring and materiality. The collection has grown through acquisitions and generous donations, and includes a very rare painting executed in Geneva before 1650, now shown to the public.
