Cinéma Bio, located on Place du Marché in Carouge, is an independent cinema with two screening rooms. The cinema offers a varied program, including thematic series like “Art au cinéma”, ballet and opera screenings, as well as children’s films. Additionally, the cinema features a small café.
An elder actor, Jean‑Luc, lands the dream role of Don Quixote in a contemporary Cervantes adaptation meant to be his farewell to the stage. As rehearsals strain his failing body and memory, he masks lapses while hallucinations and vertigo encroach. The company hires an understudy, and Jean‑Luc’s fragile psyche slips into an obsessive paranoia, blurring performance and reality. Poetic and unsettled, the film observes ageing, identity and the theatrical self with haunting intimacy.
