Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen brings her acclaimed Met Opera presence to a Schubert recital that probes the intimate link between music and literature. Her interpretations illuminate Schubert’s fascination with Goethe, culminating in a dramatic reading of the ballad that inspired Erlkönig. With luminous tone and concentrated phrasing, Davidsen shapes each lied with emotional clarity, balancing lyricism and intensity to reveal the poetry’s dark undercurrents.

Choreographed by Damien Jalet and Kyle Abraham, Oceans presents a diptych that channels the energy and metamorphoses of water. Jalet’s hypnotic Brise‑lames, created with artist JR to a score by Koki Nakano, assembles nine dancers into a human wave that evokes power, fragility and resilience. Abraham’s River Without Banks, set to Leo Svirsky’s entrancing music, investigates the passage of time and emotional vulnerability through solos, duets and ensembles within a constantly shifting scenographic and lighting design by Dan Scully.
