Four performers embody testimonies from different generations in Sept, situated at the crossroads of dance and film. Choreographed and performed by Andalusian artist María del Mar Suárez, known as La Chachi, this hybrid flamenco piece blends reverence and deconstruction of tradition with a punk expressivity. Two musicians and a singer form a driving, looping soundscape that slowly reveals La Chachi’s silhouette as she advances, her movements coiling and breaking like the music’s escalating cycles. Visceral and hypnotic, the work explores the effort to overcome the seemingly insurmountable, building tense intimacy and ritualized ascent.
Prima Facie, by Suzie Miller, stages a tense courtroom drama centred on Tessa, a brilliant defence lawyer whose life is upended after she becomes the victim of an assault. Directed by Elidan Arzoni and performed by Anna Budde, the production weaves urgent questions about justice, credibility and power. Danielle Milovic’s lighting and the French translation by Dominique Hollier and Séverine Magois shape a stark, intimate staging. Produced by Les Amis – Le Chariot for Scène Vagabonde Festival.
