Swiss mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti and American pianist Todd Camburn form a close musical partnership, presenting a programme that juxtaposes Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder with Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer. The recital also includes Duparc’s intimate mélodies, Poulenc’s nuanced songs and a brief solo piano Improvisation, plus chansons by Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré in an arrangement by Guy‑François Leuenberger commissioned for the occasion. Gregory Rauber provides a contextual introduction. The evening unfolds with oceanic textures, luminous phrasing and intense lyric intimacy.

Directed by Aurélia Lüscher, Au Grand Passage stages a tender and questioning dialogue with her paternal grandmother and the spectral traces that linger among the living. Combining documentary inquiry and poetic dramaturgy, Lüscher conjures the voices of those who engage with the beyond amid a wax and mist décor that blurs visible and invisible. Drawing on readings like Magali Molinié and Vinciane Despret, the piece explores what cannot be resolved, using theatre’s spectral dimension to imagine passage between forms.

Performed and directed by Eve Aouizerate, this incisive solo creation blends autofiction and faux stand-up to turn fairy-tale promises into a sharp satire. Using humour and precise stagecraft, Aouizerate interrogates reactionary online imaginaries and the contemporary allure of tradwives, exposing tensions between domestic idealisation and feminist inheritance. The piece mixes intimate confession, comic timing and critical observation to probe identity, boredom and the pressures shaping women’s lives.

Cirque Knie presents a family-oriented, large-scale circus spectacle combining athletic acrobatics, equestrian artistry and choreographed variety numbers. Suitable for children from four years upwards, the show prioritises accessibility and comfort while offering an immersive, theatrical atmosphere that blends tradition and contemporary circus aesthetics.

Sunday 6 September, 18:00

British vocalist Lucy Thomas joins pianist James Breckon in an intimate piano-and-voice recital that bridges classical crossover, pop and musical theatre. Thomas’s soaring timbre and theatrical phrasing reinterpret film themes and Broadway melodies alongside original songs, while Breckon’s sensitive accompaniment ranges from delicate pianissimos to rich, organ-tinged textures. The programme favors emotional clarity and lyrical storytelling; sparse lighting and nuanced pacing heighten moments of hush and catharsis, drawing listeners into a vividly cinematic soundworld.
