Out of the Blue: Heidi Bjørgan & Kari Dyrdal

Out of the Blue brings together Norwegian ceramicist Heidi Bjørgan and textile artist Kari Dyrdal in a sustained dialogue between ceramics and woven textiles. Bjørgan reworks familiar jug and vessel archetypes until they appear melted or imploded, using multiple firings and distinctive glazes to expose cracks, shifts and unpredictable reactions. Dyrdal examines memory, pattern and structure through handwoven, hand‑dyed pieces that marry traditional craft with digital processes, yielding tactile and conceptual depth.

Marie Ducaté presents Simultanés, an installation that transposes the spirit and traces of her studio into a theatre of objects. Combining ceramics, tracing paper, watercolor, textile and glass, the work sits at the intersection of pop culture and art history. The installation foregrounds a chromatic range from vivid colour to transparency and investigates the sensuality of materials, inviting close attention to texture, surface and the intimate relationships between form and materiality. Ready to dive into the dark depths off the island of Antikythera to discover an ancient shipwreck? The exhibition Nouvelles d’Anticythère presents the research carried out between 2021 and 2025 by the Classical Archaeology Unit of the University of Geneva, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Culture. It examines the famous shipwreck discovered in 1900 — a major merchant vessel that sank in the 1st century BCE — and invites visitors to discover the site and understand why it remains a key subject for archaeological research across the Mediterranean.

Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri: Master of the Western Desert

This exhibition pays tribute to Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, a seminal figure of Australian Aboriginal art and a pioneer of the Western Desert painting movement. Drawing on Dreaming stories and the ancestral landscapes of his Anmatyerre heritage, Possum translated traditional sand and body painting motifs into monumental canvases that intertwine myth, geography and memory. His richly patterned, large-scale works balance Indigenous cosmology with a striking sense of modern abstraction, affirming his lasting influence on global contemporary art.

Ernest Pignon-Ernest, born in 1942 in Nice, is considered one of the pioneers of street art. Through life-sized charcoal drawings pasted directly onto city walls, he creates powerful encounters between his human figures and the urban spaces they inhabit. Deeply engaged with social and political issues, his work reflects historical and contemporary struggles while maintaining a strong poetic and human presence.

With Rien ne sert de courir, Didier Merlin presents suspended images that hover between snapshot and staged tableau. His enigmatic figures appear trapped beneath glossy glass, frozen between appearance and disappearance.
Working in reverse glass painting since the 1990s, he builds images backward; since 2019 acrylic glass and drypoint engraving have expanded scale and sharpened his line. The exhibition combines painting, engraving and hybrid techniques to explore mediation, fragmented narrative and the porous boundary between intimacy, collective memory and imagined reality.
