Raul Midón is a virtuosic guitarist and singer whose golden voice blends jazz, soul and folk into an intimate, rhythmic sound world. Blind from birth, the New Mexico–born artist transformed his difference into a singular creative force. Trained at the University of Miami, he has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers, and performed on stages from New York to Montreux. Alone on stage, Midón combines percussive guitar, supple vocal phrasing and his astonishing “mouth‑trumpet” to create moments of pure emotion and groove.
In early January 2022, two construction vehicles belonging to a Swiss multinational were set on fire at a gravel pit in the Geneva countryside. Over a year later, a young man — referred to as Jérémy — was arrested and suspected of involvement in the arson. Held in pre-trial detention, he was released after more than three months, following strong public support and mobilization.
