Philippe Beck: Le sérieux de l’idée d’un poème musical

Poet and philosopher Philippe Beck delves into the intricate relationship between music and poetry, exploring the poet’s longing for “pure music” and the composer’s impulse to turn toward words. From Verlaine to Baudelaire, from Hegel to Apollinaire, this conference offers a captivating reflection on the musicality of language and the dialogue between two temporal arts — where poetry dreams of sound, and music seeks words.
