Cornebidouille

“Cornebidouille” is a puppet show for children, inspired by Pierre Bertrand’s books. The story follows Pierre, a little boy who refuses to eat his soup, until the witch Cornebidouille pays him a visit. Created by Nathalie Wiget and Erika von Rosen, with input from the author, the performance blends puppetry with songs. Supported by a variety of institutions and sponsors, this is the company’s first production for young audiences, and it has been touring since 2017.

The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. The ASL is marking its 45th anniversary with the immersive exhibition “Léman, l’éveil d’un peuple” (Léman, the Awakening of a People). This exhibition chronicles the fierce battle to rescue Lake Geneva from suffocation between the 1960s and 2000, driven by the collective efforts of associations, scientists, fishermen, journalists, and institutions. It offers a journey filled with documents and personal accounts, reminding visitors of the power of individual action in protecting the lake. The event features a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including fun missions for children, conferences, and guided tours. It also highlights the lake’s current challenges and encourages active engagement in its preservation.

22 October – 2 November

With Océan, the French company Succursale 101 invites young children on a gentle, dreamlike dive into the deep sea. Mixing colorful shadow theatre, puppetry, and video, the 30-minute show follows a child chasing a beloved seashell into a magical underwater world, where corals, fish, and mysterious abysses come alive in a floating, poetic ballet of light and sound.

Ages 2 and up.

 

24 September – 7 December

Discover the vital role of water preservation through the interactive exhibition “Léman, the Awakening of a People” and the workshop “Mission: Clean Water!” Uncover the story of how Lake Geneva was rescued from pollution four decades ago through collective action. This event narrates an inspiring tale of struggle, resilience, and hope, providing valuable insights for today’s environmental challenges.

29 October – 17 December

Ancestral spirits take over the Barbier-Mueller Museum for a captivating interactive adventure designed for children. With curiosity and creativity, young participants will unravel the secrets of these spirits from around the globe. It’s a cultural and mysterious experience not to be missed!
