Claude Barras, the director of “Ma vie de Courgette,” unveils his second feature film in stop-motion at the 20th ANIMATOU FESTIVAL. This film tells the story of Kéria, who takes in a baby orangutan in Borneo while her cousin Selaï seeks refuge with them to escape conflict. Together, they join forces to protect the endangered rainforest, fighting against its planned destruction.

The ASL is marking its 45th anniversary with the immersive exhibition “Léman, l’éveil d’un peuple” (Léman, the Awakening of a People). This exhibition chronicles the fierce battle to rescue Lake Geneva from suffocation between the 1960s and 2000, driven by the collective efforts of associations, scientists, fishermen, journalists, and institutions. It offers a journey filled with documents and personal accounts, reminding visitors of the power of individual action in protecting the lake. The event features a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including fun missions for children, conferences, and guided tours. The Festival de Cinéma des Cinq Continents (F5C) is a 10-day cross-border festival celebrating global cinema, bringing together 20 international guests across six cinemas in France and Switzerland. With 40 films in original versions with French subtitles, masterclasses, cine-conferences, and themed focuses like “Music in Cinema,” “At the Heart of Ukraine,” and Ibero-American screenings, the festival offers a rich cultural program.

The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. In captivity, Janus receives attentive care, resulting in an impressive lifespan of 26 years.
