The Pregny Greenhouses: A Journey Through Time

Explore the historic architecture of the Pregny greenhouses with guided tours during the European Heritage Days. Built in the 1880s from Canadian Pitch Pine, these greenhouses house collections of succulents, palms, and citrus plants. Far from being mere horticultural structures, they are a testament to a bygone era. Despite suffering deterioration over time, a meticulous restoration effort since 2017 has restored their former glory. The tours are led by architect Alain Félix, engineer Johannes Natterer, and Géraldine Glas, Deputy Scientist at the Architectural Heritage Conservation Unit.
