Parisian singer-songwriter Aime Simone will be performing at the Alhambra to unveil his third album “REV”. Noted for his “post pop” style, he blends emotional depth, pop melodies, and trap rhythms with experimental electronic sounds. “REV” delves into themes of revolution, revenge, revelation, and the fluidity of identity, drawing listeners into introspection through the allegory of an “underworld” where the boundaries between light and darkness, good and evil, reality and illusion become blurred.

Sufi’s Saraband is a mystical fusion of Sufi music, poetry, and dance, blending Persian modal traditions with Baroque Western styles. Featuring The Modal Experience ensemble, the performance pairs 13th-century poet Rūmī’s verses with those of modern Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad.

Inspired by the whirling dervishes’ dance, it combines hypnotic movement, soulful singing, and a rich dialogue between Eastern and Western instruments. Under Keyvan Chemirani’s direction, Sufi’s Saraband offers a captivating journey of spiritual ecstasy and transcendence.

Claude Debussy’s opera “Pelléas & Mélisande,” based on Maurice Maeterlinck’s libretto, makes its return to Geneva following its initial streamed staging in 2021. This production, a collaboration with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen and Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, showcases the creative talents of directors and choreographers Damien Jalet and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, with visual artist Marina Abramović contributing her artistic touch. Juraj Valčuha conducts the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, while the costumes are crafted by Iris van Herpen. Sung in French with subtitles, the opera delves into a symbolist drama focusing on hidden emotions and unseen energies, heightened by performances from the dancers of the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève.

Théophile, a successful author, is crafting a poetic tale that provokes paranoid reactions among those around him, as everyone sees themselves in his characters. Directed by Olivier Périat and featuring a talented cast including Carine Barbey and Frédéric Landenberg, this play humorously and thoughtfully delves into the themes of being and seeming. Produced by Cie Interlope, it has been praised for its humor and its insightful exploration of the hidden aspects of our personalities.

The company, La Cie de l’Ourag’enchant’é, pays tribute to Anne Sylvestre, a significant 20th-century singer-songwriter, often only recognized for her children’s songs. This event weaves together unpublished texts and music to delve into themes of love, war, and life stories. Set in a bookstore with a bar and piano, three women reflect on the impact of Anne Sylvestre’s passing, sharing poignant memories while accompanied by a pianist. This multidisciplinary ensemble continues its series focusing on resilient women.

28 & 29 October

Bruno Peki, a young comedian from Geneva, debuts his first stand-up show in the area where his passion began. After catching attention with a performance in 2017, he studied at the conservatory and joined Jokers Comedy. Now, he splits his time between Paris and Geneva, collaborates with France Inter, opens for renowned acts like Thomas Wiesel and Gad Elmaleh, and has garnered several awards. His show humorously and self-deprecatively tackles universal themes like the search for identity and the pursuit of happiness. Discover this rising star, presented in partnership with Migros cultural percent Geneva.
