In her new show Chora, choreographer Rafaële Giovanola invites the audience to step onto the stage and become part of the performance, offering a unique immersive choreographic experience.
With a duration of 1 hour, the show breaks the fourth wall by removing seating and encouraging spectators to leave their passive role as witnesses. Instead, they are encouraged to interact and engage with the performance. Known for her powerful works that deconstruct the body, Giovanola, through her company CocoonDance, focuses on space and its perception in Chora, creating a multifaceted and immersive experience by bringing the audience closer to the dancers.
Before each performance, a movement workshop is offered to the public, requiring no prior dance experience. This workshop is highly recommended to enrich the spectator’s experience.
