Sylvie Lindeperg and Maurine Mercier delve into how war narratives—spanning reportage, propaganda, and fiction—shape the understanding of conflicts and document their many memories. This workshop explores the traditional process of assembling a herbarium specimen, inspired by Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s collections. Held across multiple venues in Geneva, including the UN, theaters, museums, and hospitals, the festival showcases feature films and documentaries that highlight human rights struggles worldwide, encouraging dialogue, reflection, and action. FIFDH has welcomed Nobel laureates, renowned filmmakers, and leading voices in activism, making it a unique platform where art and advocacy intersect.

Pierre Tevanian, philosopher, essayist and activist, presents his new book published by éditions Divergences. Drawing on philosophical argument and political engagement, he reclaims the stigma attached to ‘wokism’ and proposes a constructive reading: if wokism does not exist as a unified movement, it must be invented. Tevanian examines how claims for social justice shape public debate and invites affirmative strategies.

The discussion will be moderated by Valérie Opériol, lecturer at the University of Geneva, and will investigate questions of identity, political language and collective mobilisation.

Evelyne Brügger, a certified art therapist, leads the workshops with support from Joëlle Mauris, a professional cellist whose music accompanies one session per cycle.

The sessions explore creative practices to support women living with endometriosis, PMS or menstrual pain, addressing emotional expression, body awareness and coping strategies. Participants investigate materials and processes to rediscover inner resources, share experiences, and develop ways to express and regulate sensations through art and sound.

Alongside the CLEO production at Théâtre Am Stram Gramm, Rémi De Vos will lead a theater writing workshop at Maison Rousseau et Littérature. Over two days, participants will engage in practical exercises to explore why some writings are suited for the stage while others may present challenges. This friendly workshop offers a chance to benefit from De Vos’s expertise and delve into the process of writing for theater.

Saturday 7 March, 13:00

This workshop advances the nursery’s restoration project, moving from pruning to a planting phase with new species introduced to enrich the site’s plant diversity. Participants will take part in hands-on planting tasks, learn about species selection and ecological benefits, and contribute to habitat enhancement. The session emphasizes ecological resilience, soil preparation techniques, and long-term stewardship.
