Sabine Süsstrunk, born in Solothurn, is a scientist-trained photographer and professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she directs the Laboratory of Images and Visual Representation. A former imaging researcher at Corbis and co‑founder of Largo.ai, she has advanced work in digital imaging and computational photography and was appointed president of the Swiss Science Council in 2020.
