Planet C: Play Again?

Join Planet C, an immersive collective game at the Maison de l’Avenir, designed to explore human obstacles in addressing climate challenges. With a group of 5 to 20 participants led by a facilitator, you’ll guide the development of a territory and gain insights for ecological transition. Based on extensive research in ecology and resource management, this game helps participants identify hurdles and devise strategies to overcome them, encouraging collective learning and action. Planet C is supported by a collective of 50 researchers from France and Switzerland, led by Leafic, an EPFZ spin-off.

As part of the Séminaire énergie-environnement 2025-2026: Opportunités et défis pour la transition énergétique, this public lecture by Iryna Sotnyk (UNIGE) explores whether war-induced electricity infrastructure loss can drive sustainability in Ukraine.

The series addresses the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in Switzerland and Europe, where policies aim to reduce reliance on fossil and nuclear energy while increasing renewable sources. Attendees will gain insights into technological, industrial, and policy aspects of sustainable energy systems, followed by a discussion with the audience.

The Geneva Seminar 2025, hosted by the Braillard Architects Foundation during Climate Week, delves into the concept of a climate-responsive city and ecological density to build a more resilient Geneva. Confronted with increasing heatwaves, a long-term strategy is essential for equitable living conditions. This annual event addresses tangible topics such as the evolution of the built environment and urban transformation. The Transition Workshop 2025, in collaboration with the Canton, the Ville de Genève, and SIG, focuses this year on ecological density in the Plainpalais district. In addition to research from The Eco-Century Project, the seminar will present results from the Urban Oasis 2.0 study, which aims to create urban climate refuges through natural cooling and greening strategies. This dialogue platform will bring together experts, policymakers, and citizens to envision an inclusive and exemplary city in the face of climate challenges.

Using Khalil Berro’s art, including works like Toxic Inaction and BREATHE, as case studies, the discussion highlights how art can evoke emotions and inspire ecological engagement. Brosch, who leads the sustainable decision-making and behavior lab, investigates the emotional and cognitive processes that promote more sustainable societies.
