Join a conversation within the temporary exhibition on music and sustainability. This discussion will tackle the environmental impact of musical practices from the perspectives of both listeners and artists, exploring ways to produce and consume music sustainably. We will also contemplate how we might experience music in the year 2080. This event is part of a monthly series that addresses environmental issues through the unique lens of the MEG.
The 7th edition of the “Out of the Box” Inclusive Arts Biennale will take place across nine cultural venues in Geneva. This event brings together artists with and without disabilities, offering a diverse program that includes dance, performance, literature, visual arts, music, and cinema. The initiative aims to transcend the able-bodied/disability divide, exploring a hybrid aesthetic while providing workshops, training sessions, and discussions. Attendees are encouraged to rediscover the works with an open mind, fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Carac is UNIGE’s new cultural festival, showcasing a month of student creations that include theater, dance, concerts, film, arts and crafts workshops, games, and an exhibition. Bibliotopia is an international literary festival held at the Jan Michalski Foundation in Montricher. Dedicated to exploring the power of literature across cultures, the festival brings together writers from around the world for a weekend of readings, discussions, and debates. Set against the backdrop of the Foundation’s striking architecture and peaceful natural setting, Bibliotopia offers a unique space for reflection on storytelling, identity, and the role of writers in a changing world.
La Cour des Contes is a captivating oral literature festival that has enchanted the town of Plan-les-Ouates for nearly 30 years, becoming a key event in the French-speaking world. Blending ancient myths with modern issues, the festival offers a rich and diverse program.
While family-friendly tales delight young audiences, the teen/adult program invites reflection and exploration. Highlights include Philippe Imbert’s clever take on princess stereotypes, Jennifer Anderson’s journey through the polar night and Indigenous climate concerns, and Pascal Mitsuru Guéran’s dive into Japan’s mysterious voluntary disappearances in Les évaporés du Japon. With over 50 performances, there’s much more to discover.
Four students will be selected to participate in this masterclass. Born in Bilbao in 1974, Enrike Solinís Azpiazu is a distinguished guitarist and early musician trained in Bilbao and Barcelona. Celebrated with numerous international awards, he is heralded as one of the leading virtuosos of his generation. Drawn to music from diverse cultures, eras, and regions, his playing style is both personal and unique. Solinís regularly performs as a soloist and continuo player with various ensembles on period instruments in prestigious venues across Europe and America.
