Metaphysical Walks – Pierre Montant

Pierre Montant presents a series of paintings exploring the uncanny within everyday surroundings. Through patient observation and a careful pictorial process, seemingly banal images become spectral and gradually give rise to canvases that probe mystery and enigma. The works oscillate between recognition and suggestion, evoking obsession, memory and metaphysical wandering. The exhibition considers how painting unveils hidden presences in the quotidian and how slow, repetitive attention can transform fleeting perceptions into sustained visual inquiry.

Association NoOps (No Planned Obsolescence Switzerland) presents a travelling display that foregrounds the materiality of our phones. Through two vitrines and a selection of recovered components, the exhibition points to the precious metals embedded in devices and to “urban mines” hiding in drawers. Combining didactic panels, curated specimens and small installations assembled from reclaimed circuitry, it examines resource extraction, waste and value in contemporary consumer electronics, asking how reuse, repair and awareness can reframe our relationship to everyday technologies.

23 January – 19 April

Ghislaine Heger presents a photographic series of portraits that foreground 101 women from French-speaking Switzerland and their experiences of ageing and gray hair. Combining portrait photography with each subject’s own testimony, the work examines social expectations, gendered scrutiny and the intimate moments that surround a visible change.
The exhibition evokes questions of identity, dignity and resilience, offering nuanced, gentle accounts that reveal how personal histories intersect with broader cultural attitudes toward ageing.

11 – 22 February

Véronique Déthiollaz and Guy Schibler present a dialogue between drawing and photography that confronts mortality through laughter, desire and celebration. Déthiollaz’s graphite, occasional pastel and ink drawings deploy ironic, grotesque figuration—mocking skeletons and humbled reapers—while Schibler’s photographic series documents funerary sculpture and cemetery vistas that reveal provocative sensuality. Together the works probe how humour, eroticism and festivity resist oblivion, refusing pain through visual excess and theatricality, and interrogate cultural attitudes toward death, embodiment and memory.

16 January – 7 March

Beat Zoderer’s first exhibition with lange + pult in Geneva presents a new series of works inspired by the economy of haiku. In these small-format pieces, the artist translates brevity, precision, and tension into the pictorial field through grids and modular patterns. Layered, translucent colors create subtle depth and shifting perceptions, while recurring square motifs generate a restrained yet vibrant rhythm. Rooted in concrete art, the series stands out for its quiet, almost meditative quality, where meaning emerges from the balance between form, color, and visual silence.

Opening on Thursday 15 January, from 18:00.

22 January – 26 February

British artist Cornelia Parker is renowned for transforming everyday objects through destruction and alteration, exploring the physical, cultural, and emotional life of materials. Her new exhibition Colour Problems at Wilde Gallery continues this exploration, presenting works that question material transformation, history, and perception while revealing the hidden potential in the ordinary.
