Iconoclasm: Destroying to Make History

Patrick Michel and Christian Grosse from the University of Lausanne delve into the theme of iconoclasm throughout history, examining its destructive actions, ambiguous memory, and its viral spread on social media. This event is organized in collaboration with the University of Music, where students will provide musical performances before the discussion, moderated by journalist Alexis Favre. The talk is part of the “Rencontres des Délices,” a series of four events aimed at exploring political and collective violence and strategies for addressing these issues, hosted by the Library of Geneva and the Maison de l’Histoire of the University of Geneva.
