FILMAR: Screening & Discussion – El fin de las primeras veces

The FILMAR festival presents “El fin de las primeras veces” by Rafael Ruiz Espejo, a Mexican fiction film lasting 76 minutes. It follows 18-year-old Lalo as he leaves his village for Guadalajara, discovering urban life through parties, encounters, and new experiences, all while exploring his sexuality and sense of freedom. This film is a tribute to the courage of embracing one’s true self and will be screened at Cinémas du Grütli in collaboration with Geneva’s Equality-Diversity center. One screening will include a discussion with Dialogai.

These sessions are designed for individuals with neurological disorders (such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, post-stroke) and their loved ones. The workshops feature Claire Rufenacht, a dance therapist; Pedro Ratto, a dancer; and Murielle Brunschwig, a cultural mediator. Registration is required at least 24 hours in advance.

Martin Rauch champions the use of raw earth in contemporary architecture as a response to climate challenges and dwindling resources. Trained as a ceramist, he was deeply influenced by local techniques he encountered in Africa. As the founder of Lehm Ton Erde, he has refined the technique of rammed earth and specializes in prefabricating large raw earth elements. His projects blend traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation. An acclaimed award winner, he also teaches at the University of Linz and ETH Zurich.
