In 2016, Coraly Zahonero, a member of the Comédie-Française, created a play titled Grisélidis based on texts and interviews with Grisélidis Réal, a famous Geneva prostitute, poet, painter, and writer. The actress brought this free-spirited woman, who passed away in 2005, back to life, showcasing her unwavering optimism and ability to transcend her difficult existence with vibrant colors. Coraly Zahonero captivated audiences at the Off Festival in Avignon, offering a stunning portrayal of this Geneva streetwalker. For one evening, she will stop by the Salon Jaune to read Grisélidis’ poems, a very personal tribute to the woman whose final resting place is at the Cimetière des Rois.
The actress will be accompanied on the accordion by Geneva-based musician Isabelle Dorsaz.
