Yalla Miku blends Ethiopian krar tradition with a modified banjo, deep electric bass and experimental electronics to create a dialogue between the Horn of Africa and European experimental scenes. The ensemble’s music moves through trance, electronic pulses and suspended textures, with voices weaving in and out of dense sonic layers. Performers include Samuel Ades Tesfagergsh (krar, voice), Louise Knobil (electric bass, voice), Cyril Bondi (drums, percussion, voice), Emma Souharce (machines, synths, voice) and Cyril Yeterian (Ufo banjo, electric guitar, voice).
Nonante’s Lausanne quartet crafts an elegant, nocturnal new wave: enveloping synthesizers, wave-like guitars, precise rhythms and a clear, centered vocal. Around singer Nicolas Roussi the music builds by contrasts — suspended moments that give way to stronger pulses and open refrains. The band’s sound evokes calm, slightly melancholic urban nights pierced by flashes of light. Line-up: Adrien (bass, synths, drum machines), Ritz (synths), Nico (vocals, guitar), Sebastian (guitar).
