Established in 1989 by Pierre-Henri Jaccaud and located in the Quartier des Bains, Skopia is a contemporary art gallery that has made a significant impact on the Swiss art scene. The gallery has an imprssive roster of primarly Swiss artist, both modern and contemporary. The gallery curates approximately six exhibitions annually.
Swiss artist Pierre André Ferrand presents a restrained body of work that examines the conditions of image-making and the illusionistic nature of painting. The show brings together oils on canvas and works on paper, employing a deliberate economy of means, pared visual codes, and an intimate awareness of artistic limits. For more than thirty years his practice has pursued an intellectual and spiritual enquiry, inviting a slow, contemplative viewing that seeks out potential and subtle perceptual shifts.
