Located on the Pont de la Machine and founded by SIG, Quartier Libre is a cultural and educational mediation space fostering dialogue between the utility company, Geneva’s institutions, and the public. Through its exhibitions, it highlights heritage, the environment, and raises awareness of cultural and societal issues, reflecting SIG’s commitment to social responsibility.
Quartier Libre SIG showcases “BORN IN … PPM” by Mary-Lou Mauricio, an exhibition of photographic portraits that highlight the CO₂ levels from the birth year of each subject. Featuring both well-known and unknown individuals, this artistic project raises awareness about climate change and the urgent need to move away from fossil fuels.
